Ingredients
- —2 apples
- —4 tbsp almond butter
- —1 tsp cinnamon
- —1 tsp honey
- —1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
💡
Swap honey for maple syrup to make this FODMAP-friendly.
Method
- 01Slice the apples into medium-thick wedges. If making ahead, squeeze a little lemon juice over them — this prevents browning.
- 02Mix the almond butter with cinnamon in a small bowl. If the butter is very thick, add a few drops of water and stir to loosen.
- 03Arrange the apple slices on a plate alongside a bowl of almond butter for dipping. Sprinkle pumpkin seeds over the apple and drizzle with honey. Eat straight away while the apple is fresh and crisp.
Why this works
Apples provide pectin prebiotic fibre feeding gut bacteria; almond butter adds magnesium and vitamin E; pumpkin seeds contribute zinc for immune and thyroid support.
