Refund and Cancellation Policy
Real Food Balance
1. Scope
This policy explains your right to cancel and get a refund for a Real Food Balance subscription, for consumers based in the United Kingdom. It should be read alongside our Subscription Terms and Terms of Service. “Real Food Balance” is the trading name of a sole trader operating in the UK.
2. Your free trial
New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. You can cancel at any time during the trial, at no cost, from your account settings — if you do, you will not be charged when the trial ends.
If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan (monthly or annual, whichever you selected) and we will take your first payment.
3. Your 14-day cooling-off right
Under UK consumer law, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of first subscribing, for any reason, and receive a full refund of anything you've been charged. This 14-day period starts on the day you first sign up (i.e. the first day of your free trial), not on the day you're first charged.
Example: if you sign up on 1 September, your 7-day free trial runs to 7 September, your first payment is taken on 8 September, and your 14-day cooling-off period runs until 14 September. If you cancel any time up to and including 14 September, you'll get a full refund of anything charged — even though you were already a few days into your paid subscription.
Once the 14-day period has passed, standard cancellation terms apply (see Section 4) — this cooling-off right does not repeat for each future renewal.
4. Cancelling after the cooling-off period
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period described above:
your cancellation stops future renewal payments;
you keep access to paid features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for (monthly or annual);
we do not provide a refund or partial refund for the remaining days of that billing period.
5. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription yourself at any time from your account settings, without needing to contact support. If you'd prefer, you can also email us at info@realfoodbalance.com and we'll cancel it for you.
6. If something's gone wrong with the Service
The cooling-off right above is separate from your statutory rights if the Service is faulty, not as described, or not provided with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you believe this applies to you, contact us at info@realfoodbalance.com and we will look into it — outcomes can include a fix, a partial refund, or a full refund depending on the circumstances.
7. How refunds are paid
Refunds are paid back to the original payment method used, via our payment processor, Stripe. Refunds are typically issued within 8 business days of approval, though your bank or card provider may take a few additional days to show the funds in your account.
8. Annual subscriptions
The same 14-day cooling-off right in Section 3 applies if you choose an annual plan. Once that period has passed, annual subscriptions are non-refundable for the remaining part of the year if you cancel early, but you'll keep access until the end of the annual term you've paid for.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if UK consumer law changes (see review note above about the incoming subscription contracts regime). We will update the “last updated” date below and notify you of any material change.
